Obviously a “new identity” is about changing our “old self” to a “new self”. It may sound easy to say that it is just a matter of making different choices. However, as the expression goes “Old habits die hard”. It requires a determined and often creative strategy to negotiate with Oneself to move away from old familiar ways which we associate with our self identity. There is a common tendency in people to find it difficult to change their accustomed behavior. It may not seem logical that any one of us would want to hold on to behavior or habits that do not serve us. Yet we have allowed ourselves to feel comfortable in them and the unfamiliar is not comfortable. To create the “new self” requires a combined effort of thoughts and feelings to build the new and let go of the old. The good news is many people have succeeded over history of developing into a new and improved self. Thus it is very possible for you!!
