Certain conditions like cancer treatment and diabetes also up the chances of you getting a fungal infection. Typically those prone to recurrent fungal infections are those with weak immune systems.

Diseases like athlete’s foot or yeast infection are caused by fungus. Fungi are organisms that have the ability to live in air, soil, plants and water. They also live in the human body and only half of the fungi types are harmful to us. Fungi reproduce through spores that remain suspended in the air, landing on our skin or getting inhaled by us. As a result, fungal infections often begin from the lungs and the skin.

Fungal infections are hard to treat and can take a while to completely disappear. Doctors usually prescribe oral medication or topical ointments or suppositories. However, certain home remedies can also be useful to eliminate them. Here we tell you about some common fungal infections and the home remedies that work on them. Do take a few precautions like testing each remedy on the inside of your hand to check for an adverse reaction. Expose the affected area to air and sunlight if possible.
