It is disappointing to discover that Wikipedia would support a very negative and unfounded criticism of the field of alternative medicine. With the changes that are occurring in our world and in our lives, I find it very prejudiced and rigid that the information Wikipedia has written is totally one sided.
Traditional medicine is not working. The number of people that never recover to an acceptable level after the traditional approaches of surgery and pharmacology is never advertised. The newest idea of doctors only getting paid if they helped the patient is long overdue. I believe it is only at the talking stage but it is time that doctors are held accountable for their medical practices.
As a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor degree and a certificate in Naturopathy, I have seen both sides of this controversy. Let us look carefully at our definition of “success” of any modality before we use terms like quackery to describe a practice that differs from traditional medicine.
